Here at GravitechX, our team is split into sub-teams, which manage different parts of our club. As of right now, our sub-teams are mechanical, electrical, programming, business, media, and outreach. Every sub-team is equally important to one another and help GravitechX grow as a whole. To take a deep dive into each sub-team and what is currently going on, check out our sub-team blog below!
Mechanical
The mechanical subteam is in charge of designing CAD models for the robot. They mainly work in the metalshop where they assemble the mechanical components of the robot. When build season rolls around, they are in charge of constructing a practice field to test the robot.
Electrical
This subteam is involved in designing and implementing the wiring the robot. Electrical works to distribute power effectively to all components of the robot and integrate necessary sensors. They also make sure the motors are controlled efficiently.
Programming
Just like the title says, this subteam programs the robot using Java. Our programming leads and members develop autonomous code that controls the robot's movement. They work heavily with the electrical subteam to optimize control with the electrical components of the robot.
Business
The business subteam take cares of making money for GravitechX. They research possible grants to apply for and reach out to specific companies who might be willing to sponsor GravitechX. Finding sponsors is crucial to GravitechX, as we use the money for registration fees and robot materials. They also handle the team's budget, keeping track of expenses and grants to stay financially healthy!
Media
Media is the backbone of GravitechX. They are tasked with making sure GravitechX stays present in not only at Livermore High School, but also in the FRC world and online. The media subteam manages GravitechX's social media accounts, such as Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook. Additionally, they are in charge of updating the website and blog! They make sure GravitechX is known outside of Livermore High School.
Outreach
In addition to making ourselves present, we love to participate in local outreach events. This not only allows us to get the word out about GravitechX, but we get to share our passion for STEM and spark interest among students and community members to explore science, technology, and engineering. Outreach opportunities allow us to engage with potential new team members and sponsors.
